Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Whittle, including whittlecareers.com and the Whittle apps (the "Service"), operated by Simplify It LLC ("we," "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Who can use Whittle

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, please review these Terms and our Privacy Policy with a parent or guardian.

What Whittle is (and isn't)

Whittle is a career discovery tool. Career, college, cost, and outcome information comes from public sources (see Data sources) and may contain errors or be out of date. Recommendations are suggestions to explore, not professional career, academic, financial, or admissions advice, and we don't guarantee any job, admission, or outcome. Always confirm details with the college or employer directly.

Your account

Give accurate information, keep your password secure, and let us know if you think someone else has accessed your account. You're responsible for activity under your account. You can start over (archive your path) or delete your account at any time from your profile; deleting your account permanently removes your data.

Colleges and listings

Every college listing starts as a free Basic listing built from public data. A college representative who claims a listing represents that they're authorized to act for that college, and is responsible for the accuracy of anything they add. We may verify, approve, reject, or revoke claims. Paid placements are always labeled, and colleges can't edit public data such as cost, graduation rates, or earnings. Paid college relationships are governed by a separate agreement.

Acceptable use

• Don't submit false, misleading, infringing, or unlawful content.
• Don't scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or disrupt the Service.
• Don't impersonate anyone or claim a college you don't represent.

Intellectual property

The Service includes information from the O*NET database, used under the CC BY 4.0 license and modified by Whittle, and public data from the U.S. Department of Education. Our own content, design, software, and branding belong to Simplify It LLC.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or your reliance on its information, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (for most users, $0).

Changes and termination

We may update these Terms; if the changes are significant we'll let you know on the site or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept them. We may suspend or end access for anyone who violates these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
